Starfruit
by Bryci on Jan.24, 2010, under Yum Yum

Late last night we ran to the grocery store right before it closed for a late night dessert (bad me I know) because I had a craving for crepes. On the way out we saw these strange little fruit called starfruit, ever heard of them? I’ve never heard or seen these things so we grabbed one to try. Tonight I cut it up, googled how to properly eat it (hey you never know if it’s going to have invisible thorns inside or something) and tried it… bleh. It’s watery and has a slight taste.. of grapes? I’m not really sure… sort of how lettuce barely has a taste you know? I read that it’s great if it is allowed to soak up juice, but I’m a low maintenance eater so if it’s not already done and only requiring cutting then I’m not really enthused
Today started off pretty lazy, woke up and watched tv for a bit then whirl wind cleaned the whole house and we even got the office rearranged! It’s awesome, and I got the red and orange paintings hung up as well. The house smells so clean and fresh, I love it when it’s like this. Then it was naptime in front of The Bourne Ultimatum (no offense Jason, I had full-belly-syndrome and had to sleep) after some yum lasagna. I’m off to bed, tomorrow is going to be nuts! Hope you guys had a great weekend

I think you ate before it was ripe. It should be yellow with brown edges when ripe.

I thought it was grape like as well, sort of … I dunno… meh?
I won’t miss not adding the star fruit to my food regiment, that’s for sure. =)
